31st.

Today is my parents’ 31st Wedding Anniversary. Yes, my mom wore this yellow number to the courthouse when they got married. She hated the dress and had no idea she was supposed to wear white so she got rid of the dress and now my sister and I are on the hunt for it haha. Anyways back to what’s more important: my parents. This crazy couple have been married for 31 years. Not once have I seen my parents argue (I saw my dad upset when we brought home Pookie without discussing it with him, but that’s pretty much it). I found this quote that I think best describes my parents: “You are the parents that all kids hope to have, you are the couple that all lovers hope to be and you both are the pillars of support that every family wishes it had.” My parents gave my sister and I the best childhood growing up. They provided for us and gave us everything we needed, but yet didn’t raise us to be spoiled brats. They’re definitely not our “best friends” but they are thee best parents. We can talk about everything and anything without being judged. There is no reason to have to lie to them because they are always understanding and open minded. They welcome everyone and everything with open arms. We laugh, we joke, we talk, we cry, we support, we love. We’re close without being intrusive. I wouldn’t be the person I am without them and I am truly blessed and thankful that I get to call them my parents.
