For our last dinner with Camp BC we had a lovely homemade dinner inside the lobby where there was a large wooden table that fit 12 of us. The table was nicely set and food was on display on the counter. Our dinner included:
- Garden Salad – Served with a balsamic vinaigrette. Simple. Great way to start a meal
- Cheese Raclette – Slices of Gouda, Swiss, and Havarti cheese to melt onto baguette slices, sausages, and potatoes. Roasted red peppers, pickled red onions, and gherkins for “toppings”
- Chili – veggie and regular. The meat chili had amazing flavor. Perfect for a cold night! Great chunks of beef and a good amount of beans. I added a dollop of sour cream and some cheese and threw in some of the sausage from the cheese raclette.
- Root Beer Float – What a great way to end dinner with a nice root beer float! I added some of my High Water Campfire Stout to my float. YUM!!!
We sat around and made new friends. We had people that relocated from the East Coast to South Lake Tahoe. A couple from Oakland who just wanted to come up for a day. Met an array of wonderful people at Camp BC. You could tell that the people of Basecamp are very passionate about what they do. I’m very excited to see what Basecamp and Camp BC has to offer in the future. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to partake in their adventure and I can’t wait for the Spring Camp BC in Tahoe City!
