I am really trying to perfect my acai bowl recipe. Every time I make it I am always changing someone about it, whether it is changing up how many bananas I put in. Or the yogurt, or berries. Something is always changing.
I wanted something sweet to eat after such a heavy dinner of pork sisig and rice that an acai bowl sounded proper. My parents wanted one, too. Perfect for trying out different bowl combos! My parents wanted something more creamy in texture so I decided to up the bananas and coconut water. Whereas my bowl had more acai and had more of a thicker consistency.
– 3 frozen bananas
– 1 frozen Acai smoothie packet (I use Sambazon)
– 1/2 cup coconut water
– 1 frozen banana
– 2 frozen Acai smoothie packets (I use Sambazon)
– 1/4 cup coconut water
– 1/4 cup frozen blueberries
– 1/4 cup frozen blackberries
– 1/4 cup frozen dragon fruit
– Shredded Coconut
– Vanilla Almond Granola
– Goji Berries
– Frozen Blackberries
– Frozen Blueberries
I personally enjoyed the consistency of this bowl. It’s less “creamy” and doesn’t remind me too much of a smoothie. It held it’s form when I had it plop into my coconut bowl and I had to smooth it over with my fork. Flavor wise, it didn’t really fulfill my sweet craving. I probably need to add more berries? I do want to try adding coconut cream to my next bowl though so I’ll definitely keep you posted on that.
Also, can you tell that I am REALLY trying to step up my photography? I absolutely hate that my apartment has such poor fluorescent lighting in the kitchen and the warm hues of the lighting in the dining room is horrible. Not to mention the living room barely gets any light from our massive sliding door just because we’re on the first level surrounded by car ports and trees. So sad because my last apartment, great lighting was in abundance! I used my Sony A5100 that I finally got back from being serviced, and used a clean canvas on the floor of my bedroom. If anyone can point me to some great tips for photography, LET ME KNOW!!
