Big Bottom Market.

Here is a post that I started to write the week that we came back from AutoCamp, which was a month ago. And by “started to write” I meant I wrote the title of this post, hit save and closed it. I have the case of the lazies. Sorry. I know my blog is sort of all over the place right now. Nothing is in order, but I figured I might as well write about my experiences than to not. Plus, I have to talk about Big Bottom Market!

Before we made our way back home from Guerneville, we decided to have breakfast at Big Bottom Market, which is located in downtown Guerneville right on the main road. It’s less than a 5 minute drive from AutoCamp, which I found very convenient. I’ve read great reviews and being that Oprah (yes, THEE Oprah) featured Big Bottom Market’s Biscuit Mix and Honey Gift Set in her 2016 Favorite Things List you best believe I had to see what the hype was all about.

When we pulled up, we found parking right out front on the curb. It was barely 10am on a Wednesday morning, so Guerneville was not busy whatsoever. They had 2 bistro tables and a couple of chairs out front, which we sat in since we had Pepper with us. I went in to grab some menus to look at. The inside of Big Bottom Market is super cute. They had a little store front in the front that sold some local items, like lotion, wines, honey, and chocolate, as well as their biscuit mix.

After we looked over the menu we ordered:

  • Biscuit + Gravy ($7) – biscuit, sausage gravy, topped with arugula.
  • Bacon-Brekky Panino ($10.50) – bacon, hard boiled egg, cheddar, spinach, garlic aioli, on ciabatta. Served with salad.

THE GRAVY WAS AMAZING. The biscuit was nice and fluffy, but that gravy was mouth-watering. It was so good, that T dipped his panino into the gravy. The panino itself was OK. I was expecting more from that garlic aioli. Would I go back to Big Bottom Market? Yes. I’d probably stick with their biscuits. I do want to try their biscuits with butter, jam, Mascarpone and honey. Oh, and their Sea Biscuit (which is smoked salmon, creme fraiche, pickled onions and capers on top of mixed greens drizzled with vinaigrette).
