On our second day in Tahoe, we decided to head out to King’s Beach for breakfast. We found King’s Cafe on the main road, which was basically across the street from King’s Beach. they had seating outside, which was dog-friendly, which is the reason why we went. We ordered:
- Tahoe Queen ($10) – Smoked turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, Swiss, Thousand Island. Served with a Salad.
- Chipotle Bacon Ranch Burger ($10) – Lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, cheddar, & chipotle ranch on an onion roll. Served with waffle fries.
The sandwich was tastier than the burger. Both weren’t standout dishes and nothing memorable.
After breakfast/lunch, we made our way to the Stateline Lookout Trail, which is a dog-friendly and super easy paved hike! We wanted to check out a view of the lake and since this trail was less than 10 minutes away from where we ate, we decided to give it a go!
Parking was along the side of the road. Surprisingly there weren’t many cars when we got there (maybe 6 cars?). We parked and made our way up. Like I said, the trail is paved was just a steady incline.
The view of the lake was beautiful. The water was so blue and there weren’t many clouds in the sky. In the distance you could see the few mountains with snow caps. I loved the view.
When we made our decent down the trail, more families were heading their way up so it was perfect timing for us!
