After writing up my blog post yesterday, I realized that I needed more shelf space and my succys needed more breathing space! So after work, I made my trek to Lowe’s and bought more cinder blocks and wood planks. I figured the weekend would be a great time to sit out on the patio and record sun time. Like when does direct sun hit the shelves, that way I can make adjustments to positioning and what succulents should get more direct sun, etc.
The picture above shows the shelves on the left hand side of the patio that gets more direct sun. I pulled the shelves away from the back wall/fence thing to see if that will allow more sun to hit the bottom shelves. The top shelf holds the lithops, since they like the sun. Plus, who wouldn’t want to see the booty !?
I also extended out the bottom shelf of the one along the back wall/fence of the patio. Although this side does not get as much direct light, it stays nice and bright majority of the day.
Joann Fabrics had a bunch of cute cacti decorations on sale for 50% off, so I snagged some wooden pieces to paint over the weekend. I also rearranged some of the succys around so that my Celfie pots are together. I’ll do more rearranging over the weekend, but I think they’re coming along!
