For T’s outfit for our civil ceremony, we decided to rent out a tux. I did not want to go through Men’s Wearhouse so I Googled another tux rental company and came across The Black Tux. I thought they had a great concept, OK price, and what made us decide to book it was…
we could go in to a location and get T measured because we have no idea what his size is for suits/ formal wear. I made an appointment online for the Pleasanton Nordstrom location.
To start the process, I made an account online and then created an event and selected the style we were going for. I thought T would look really great in a blue suit, so that’s what I chose. I also wanted to keep the blush/mauve tones with the civil wedding since that is what we are going to do for our bigger wedding. So I picked a blush tie.
On the day of the appointment, the girl helping us had me log onto our TBT account so she could see what we wanted and then she started taking T’s measurements. After, she pulled samples of each size and had him try them on to see what fit and what didn’t. Then we placed an order.


The order was placed on a Monday and arrived on Friday. Everything came in nice and pressed and ready for T to wear on our big day! The suggested renting in about 2 weeks before the big event so if anything did not fit we could send it back for a replacement. After our big day, T would just need to return everything back via a prepaid return label and the box it came in within 3 days. Definitely a fast and easy service!
I feel like everyone is doing the civil wedding thing — I do wish I had had a big huge wedding but I don’t have that many friends lmao! My hubs didn’t even get a tux, he just had a button down and khaki’s!
