My OBGYN did suggest that I do the NIPT testing. The NIPT test is stands for Noninvasive Prenatal Testing and is a method of determining the risk that the fetus will be born with genetic abnormalities, as well as the sex of the fetus.
At 12 weeks I went to Kaiser to get my blood drawn and was told that it could take up two weeks to get the results. Well right after our little scare at 13 weeks, we got our results! Our results shows that the probability of Down syndrome, trisomy 18, and trisomy 13 was found to be much less than 1%, which was great news! I had my sister actually log in for us so we could get the results so we wouldn’t know if we were having a boy or a girl.
Anyways, a few days before we got our results my sister got two sets of blue and pink canons to be prepared. We wanted to find out the gender ASAP so I wouldn’t be tempted to look at the results haha. We invited some of our friends and family to a virtual Zoom call to announce BB’s gender!
We went to my in-laws for the big reveal !! I was a little nervous cause the whole time I had this feeling it was going to be a boy and then that last week I had all these dreams and what not that just started screaming GIRL to me. I really didn’t care if we were having a boy or girl, but I knew T wanted a boy first.
