Happy Hour was long overdue for Penny and I, especially since she left our office and joined “the dark side” (and by dark side is that she left and got a better job haha). We were originally going to meet … Continue reading 31st Union.
We came in with high expectations for the food… which were not met. We made reservations at Michael Mina and Ayesha Curry’s restaurant International Smoke in December, and yes, it was pretty much fully booked until March. The restaurant opened … Continue reading International Smoke.
On my way home from work the other day, I had Mike Chen’s (aka “Strictly Dumpling”) YouTube video “First Time Trying TRADITIONAL Filipino Food” playing in the background in my car. After watching him eat and talk about crispy pata, … Continue reading Toppings, Too.
Since we had time before our 7pm viewing of Black Panther and all we had to eat that day was our sandwiches during our hike, we decided to grab some dinner. Since Fremont Afghan Kabob was across the freeway from … Continue reading Fremont Afghan Kabob.
I was craving Korean food when my sister was in town so we decided to try Ka Yumi in the Irvington district of Fremont. I’ve had this place bookmarked on my Yelp for quite some time so it just made … Continue reading KA YUMi
Papasan is a small Japanese restaurant that was a block away from my old apartment. I had this horrible cough and cold the other day, so I though a nice bowl of ramen would help. Also, I’ve been craving tofu … Continue reading Papasan Rolls and Bowls.
So I’ve been craving oysters for a while. There are not many places in our area where we can get oysters, so we decide to venture out to Campbell and check out Forthright Oyster Bar & Kitchen. They have Happy Hour from 2pm – 5:30pm on Sundays, which include $1.50 oysters! We arrived a bit early, so we sat at the counter top and ordered two Bloody Mariscos (bloody mary with clamato, a shrimp, and an oyster) and a couple of Oysters that our waitress recommended. The Bloody Mariscos were great! Awesome flavor. And the shrimp that was on … Continue reading Forthright Oyster Bar & Kitchen.
We just got back from spending almost 3 days in Portland. We got to experience rainy, overcast, and sunny Portland. We definitely had more on our To-Do list, but because of the weather and lack of sleep our itinerary was cut short, but we still enjoyed our time! Saturday We flew in from SFO just before 11am. We took the MAX Red Line from the Airport towards City Center & Beaverton and got off at Gateway to switch onto the Max Green Line towards City Center/PSU where we got off at SW 5th & Oak (our hotel was around the … Continue reading Portland – Our “3 Day” Itinerary
I’m pretty excited to be going back to Portland since the last time I was there was back in July. T has been in Portland, but for a like a couple of hours (he went years ago with a friend who went up for a job interview). Since he’s never really explored the city I thought it would be a great place to go to celebrate his birthday. This upcoming trip is going to feature a lot of food and beer (especially since I’m trying to cut out hard liquor). Also, with it raining, we are not able to go … Continue reading Portland.
